La utilización de óxidos de manganeso se evidencia en el extremo norte de Chile desde el periodo Arcaico (ca. 10.500-4.000 cal. a.p.) en tierras bajas (costa y valles) y tierras altas (precordillera y altiplano). Determination of arsenic (III) by differential pulse polarography in the waters of camarones area, Chile

As (III) was determined by differential pulse polarography (DPP) in 1 mol L-1 HC1 as supporting electrolyte. For quantification, the -0.35 V peak (versus Ag/AgC1) was chosen. Elemental characterisation of pre-hispanic rock art and arsenic in northern chile
Abstract:

We present results of elemental physicochemical characterisation (by SEM-EDX) from two rock painting sites in northern Chile, Tangani and Vilacaurani. Different pigments have been identified, specifically iron and manganese oxides, commonly found worldwide. The presence of minor elements, such as arsenic, is also observed.
